#thankfulfor divine preparation
Every week through the month of May, I will share one thing I am thankful for and how this time of COVID-19 has illuminated that in my life. This week I’m the divine preparation God has done in my life.
Today I’m giving a [mostly] unedited peek at Jacqueline’s Journal.
A prayer from 20 May 2020:
Lord,
Thank you for your sovereign hand over my life. This time of COVID has shown so many ways which you watch over me. Here are a few which I’ve noticed particularly in this time…
Providing a job which computers are constantly being used for various tasks and communications. This made the shift to online education much easier for me. It cut down on the difficulty of looking at a screen all day because I had grown accustomed to that.
Through close friendships lived at a distance and maintained through digital connection, I had also become more comfortable connecting with friends via video, phone, text, email. This really benefited my ability to stay intentionally connected with individuals while at a distance.
My anticipated Ecuador mission trip this summer had already been cancelled. With social distancing and travel restrictions, I am thankful to not have needed to make decisions about going or not going on this trip because of COVID.
My decision two and a half years ago to cut back on course load per semester meant that I'll have an additional semester during fall of 2020. Now I’m not graduating in all this craziness and trying to find a job in an uncertain education system.
I had already left track and field after 3 fairly disappointing years of injury and surgery. My senior season wasn’t stripped from me, I had already given it up.
The plan is to live in State College for the fall semester. This change has given me time to readjust to life here and time to search for a job which may sustain me through the semester.
My tendency is to overload myself with responsibilities through school, work, ministry, etc. The lockdown came into play just as I was getting to my breaking point for the semester. Without a lighter schedule the second half of this past semester would have wreaked me.
That was an easy list and I’m sure there are many more, as well as other ways in which you are preparing me for the future circumstances of life. Thank you for your faithfulness in preparing me for the things to come.
Amen
