Melbourne Update - McKinnon

Hello friends!

Thank you so much for your love and support throughout the past seven weeks! In this short time I have traveled to Kansas (USA) and Victoria (Australia) to partner with fellow believers in the work of the Gospel. The interconnectedness of the worldwide church has been beautiful to experience! Throughout my journeys I have met and served with individuals who originate from at least nine countries (and likely many other places of which I am unaware)! Our Lord is represented all over His Creation, oh what a beautiful sight!

Our trip officially ended on Thursday with the departure of my team to Japan and the United States. Over the final few days of our time together the team capitalized on time with other young adults - loving and knowing them, babysitting -loving and caring for families, dinner with congregation members, Ladies book club, and English Conversation Class for those learning English as a second language. Each of these activities has shed more light into what it means to love and serve a community.

Give thanks to the Lord for my teams safe travels to Japan and the States! Also give thanks for the safe arrival of my sister to Melbourne and the opportunities we've had to explore and enjoy good company here :)

Pray for the relationships which have been formed and/or continued throughout this trip. Within my team, between my team and the community here, between members of the community and each other, between myself and all the above communities of people. May the Lord strengthen and grow these relationships over time to be honorable and glorifying to His Name and His Kingdom.

#thankfulfor my athletics community

Every week through the month of May, I will share one thing I am thankful for and how this time of COVID-19 has illuminated that in my life. This week I’m highlighting my athletics community. A few weeks ago life seemed to stop, normal activities and work came to a screeching halt. In all this I've moved temporarily back to my parents house where I could be supported and surrounded by family while the nation and state are in "lockdown." For our sanity we attempt to get out for a walk each day, but just that doesn’t cut it sometimes. So one day I took to the workout archives and headed to the park with a throwback to my high school track and field days.  2016 high school graduation celebration with a few of the many people who made high school track so rewarding.
