Frankston to Geelong

Greetings,

Since I wrote my last update there has been much activity and change! Over the past weekend we attended young adult camp with about 25 other young adults. There were some who joined us from the Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia. These brothers and sisters came from Brisbane and Tasmania for the weekend. I am so grateful to have met these fellow believers and get to know them a bit. Praise the Lord for safe travels back and forth as well as a camp to have as a destination for broader community beyond the local church. The topic of our discussions was how to disagree. Throughout the weekend we spoke with each other about how to respect people with theological convictions, opinions and questions that you personally don't agree with or are convicted about. Throughout the trip there have been many conversations about theology, people asking the opinions of others on Biblical topics, etc.. Having “how to disagree” as a camp topic was really beneficial because it goes with the theme of the mission thus far for me. This topic also encourages everyone to consider what it looks like to be unified in Christ. Even with Christians who have different convictions.

After camp, the team has moved over to Geelong. We got to see some members here after evening worship during fellowship time. This was a nice way to introduce us to the congregation I think because we could get into some conversations and meet people over the weekend and Sunday before the Geelong Bible Conference this weekend. We had the amazing opportunity to visit an assisted living facility with pastor and other members of the congregation for their bi-weekly church service. I was blessed and encouraged by this outing, I hope the residents were as well.

Thank you for your continued prayers surrounding our health and travels.

This coming week we are continuing our stay in Geelong. Our team will again visit the assisted living facility for a time of song which happens each opposite week from the services. Throughout the week we will be facilitating multiple programs with the church. These programs are for a range of people from youth and children to young ladies.

Please pray for the Geelong Bible Conference happening this weekend. Thank the Lord for Joel and Mary Beke’s safe travels earlier this week. Pray for our family members back home who are struggling with their health, that the support systems and doctors they are working with will be guided in wisdom by the Holy Spirit. Pray that the young adults here (and in Brisbane and Tasmania) would continue to pursue unity with other Christians even through denominational lines. Pray for the events the mission team will be partaking in next week with young ladies, young children and the youth of Geelong RP.

May the Lord bless you as you seek his heart.

Jacqueline Ann
